Spring into Summer

As we approach summer, more things start to change than just the weather. Our clothes, hair, and makeup can change, too. We put away our pea-coats and scarves and exchange them for dresses and flip flops in any shade we want – including the “safe-before-labor-day” white. Now you can spring into summer with these style tips for your whole body.

Fashion – Fun, flirty colors are in. Try avoiding black this summer. Although black is the usual safe choice, be daring and bold and stand out from the crowd. Save your ‘LBD’ for another night. To find what colors match your skin tone best, you must first determine what category skin tone you are in. Do you have pale, fair skin? Medium and golden  tones? Or dark, sultry skin? Once you have your skin tone, match it with colors that have a subtle contrast and enhance your glow, so avoid colors on the other side of the spectrum.

Makeup- The same kind of fashion tips can be used for your makeup. Determine your skin tone and choose colors that will enhance your features and not over-power your face. The natural look is in this summer, so go for shades that are subtle and light. Rosy cheeks, pale eyeshadows, and pink or nude lips will give you a beautiful, natural glow.

Hair – The messy, unbrushed look is slowly being replaced with neat and precise cuts. From bobs and layers to beautiful, relaxed curls and sleek, straight hair, choose a cut that will outline your face and enhance your bone structure rather than hide it. Don’t have time to wash your hair in the morning? Give your bangs or the first couple inches of hair in the front a quick rinse in the sink. Blowdry them to give them a fresh, clean bounce that will suddenly brighten your face and not wear it down. Throw your hair in a pony tail and wrap a half inch section of hair around your hair-band to hide it. This will give your ponytail a sleek, salon look that only takes minutes to do.
